Mobile Usage
Taagger is built mobile-first. Manage assets, scan QR codes, and tap NFC tags from any smartphone or tablet — no app download required.
In this guide:
1. The Mobile Web App
Taagger is a fully responsive web application. There is nothing to install — just open your mobile browser, navigate to your Taagger URL, and log in. The interface automatically adapts to any screen size.

2. Add to Home Screen
For a native app-like experience, you can add Taagger to your phone's home screen. This launches it in fullscreen mode without browser chrome, making it feel like a dedicated app.
iPhone / Safari
- 1. Open Taagger in Safari
- 2. Tap the Share icon (square with arrow)
- 3. Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
- 4. Tap "Add" to confirm
Android / Chrome
- 1. Open Taagger in Chrome
- 2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋮)
- 3. Tap "Add to Home screen"
- 4. Tap "Add" to confirm
3. Scanning QR Codes
QR codes are the primary way field workers interact with assets. There are two ways to scan them on mobile.
Method A: Native Camera App (Recommended)
Most modern smartphones can scan QR codes directly from the built-in camera app — no extra app needed.
- 1. Open your phone's default Camera app.
- 2. Point it at the QR code on the asset. Hold steady for 1–2 seconds.
- 3. A notification or banner will appear with the Taagger link. Tap it.
- 4. Your browser opens directly to the asset's scan page.
Method B: In-App Scanner
Taagger also has a built-in scanner for users who are already logged in.
- 1. Log in to Taagger on your mobile browser.
- 2. Tap the Scan icon in the navigation bar.
- 3. Allow camera access when prompted.
- 4. Point the camera at any Taagger QR code to jump directly to that asset.
💡 Tip: QR codes work even when a user is not logged in. The public scan page shows asset information and allows guests to sign compliance documents or claim assets from shipments.
5. The Scan Page
When a QR code or NFC tag is scanned, the user is taken to the asset's Scan Page — a mobile-optimised view showing key information and available actions.
Asset Information
Name, description, location, serial number, and all custom fields are shown at a glance.
Open Tasks
Pending and overdue maintenance tasks are shown. Logged-in users can update task status directly from the scan page.
Compliance Documents
Required documents are listed with a "Sign" button. Both authenticated users and guests can sign with a digital signature and photo.
Shipment Claiming
If an asset is part of an active shipment, recipients can claim it and all assets in the shipment from the scan page.
6. Voice Dictation
Typing on a phone while wearing gloves or working in the field is difficult. Taagger's voice dictation feature lets you speak notes, maintenance logs, and task descriptions hands-free.

— Spoken note auto-transcribed into a task completion note
Using Voice Dictation
- 1. Navigate to a task or asset note field.
- 2. Tap the microphone icon (🎙️) next to the text field.
- 3. Speak clearly. Your speech is transcribed in real time.
- 4. Review and edit the transcribed text, then save as usual.
Voice dictation is available in the task notes editor, the AI Copilot chat, and asset description fields. It requires microphone permission in your browser.
7. Offline & Connectivity
Taagger is a cloud-based web application and requires an internet connection to load and save data. However, there are practical strategies for working in low-connectivity environments.
Working in remote areas? Pre-load the assets you'll be working on before going offline. Your browser may cache recently viewed pages for reading, but saving changes requires connectivity.
Tips for Low-Connectivity Environments
- check_circle Use a mobile hotspot when Wi-Fi isn't available. Most data actions in Taagger are lightweight.
- check_circle Pre-load asset pages before entering a site with no signal so recently viewed content is cached.
- check_circle Take notes offline using your phone's native notes app, then transfer them into Taagger when connectivity returns.
- check_circle Download PDF exports of asset registers before going into remote areas as a read-only reference.
8. Browser & Device Support
Taagger works on all modern browsers and operating systems. For the best experience, keep your browser updated.

9. Field Use Tips
Practical advice for getting the most out of Taagger on the job site.
Place QR codes at eye level
Attach tags to the most visible surface of the asset, away from dirt and grease. Laminate paper tags or use UV-resistant labels in outdoor environments.
Improve scan success in bright sunlight
High contrast between the QR code and background is key. Black on white works best. Tilt the tag slightly to reduce glare when scanning outdoors.
Keep your session logged in
Taagger keeps you logged in between visits. Avoid logging out each time — your session is secure and remains active across browser restarts.
Attach photos from your camera roll
When logging maintenance or damage, attach photos taken with your phone's camera directly from the asset or task page. This creates a visual audit trail.
Bookmark your company's asset list
Add your company's assets page to your browser bookmarks for quick one-tap access without needing to navigate through the full app each time.
